Q & A relating to our wedding photograph


What happens if I hire you and you can’t be there?


LIMIT OF LIABILITY: In the unlikely event of severe medical, natural, or other emergencies excluding death, it may be necessary to retain an alternative photographer. NLC Photography will make every effort to assist you to secure a replacement photographer able and/or willing to provide a similar package as chosen in your contract at the same/similar tariff. If such a situation should occur and a suitable replacement is not found, responsibility and liability is limited to the return of all payments received for the event package.


What happens if the photos are lost or destroyed?


NLC Photography takes the utmost care with respect to exposure, transportation and processing of photographs; including using professional grade equipment and professional grade backup equipment. However, in the unlikely event of THE CLIENT’S photographs either on electronic media (memory cards or hard drives) being lost, stolen or destroyed for reasons within or beyond NLC Photography's’ control, the latter’s liability is limited to the return of all payments received for the event package. The limit of liability shall not exceed the contract price paid. The limit of liability for a partial loss of originals shall be a prorated amount of the exposures lost based on the percentage of total number of originals.



How much is the retainer (deposit)?


The retainer fee for all packages is £250 and is payable at booking and is Non refundable, as this payment reserves the service of NLC PHOTOGRAPHY on a given day during which no other booking will be undertaken..


Do you take credit card?


Yes, we can take payment by credit card or debit card.

NLC PHOTOGRAPHY can make available our business Bank Account and Sort Code details to enable a bank transfer to secure cleared funds,  this is our preferred method. Cheques are accepted but funds must be cleared prior to goods or services being confirmed.


Do you have the option to set up a payment plan?


At this time NLC PHOTOGRAPHY does not offer a payment plan


How does the booking process work?


We recommend an initial personal meeting to discuss your requirements. Initial contact can be made through our Enquiry Tab on our website, Email or Facebook page. A booking will remain unconfirmed until the retainer is paid in full with cleared funds.



When is the remainder of the package amount due?


Any outstanding balance Must be paid with cleared funds no later than 14 Days prior to the wedding date.

Failure to pay the balance prior to your wedding date will terminate our contract and any retainer will be withheld by NLC PHOTOGRAPHY and we would not attend your wedding.


Do you have an assistant for the wedding day?


My wife will assist me during the day however Sue does not undertake photography tasks.


Do you have backup equipment?


NLC PHOTOGRAPHY only uses quality Canon products and always carries three camera bodies and a quantity of quality professional grade Canon lenses. NLC PHOTOGRAPHY is also a member of CPS (Canon Professional Services)


How far in advance should I book?


Due to the often seasonal nature of weddings, we advise booking as early as possible in order to be sure to secure our services and avoid disappointment.


Will you attend our rehearsal?


Where at all possible we will certainly endeavour to attend all rehearsals and also visit our couples venue,  preferably with the couple.


What if I want an item not included in your pricing guide?


We understand that wedding are very personal and are happy to discuss any additional requirements and supply a quotation


I’m pretty sure I want to hire you, but I still need to visit one other photographer. Will you hold the date?

We are happy to hold your date for seven days by agreement from your initial contact/meeting. However, we do expect to be notified as soon as possible of your decision.


Will I be able to print my photos on my own?


We allow the printing of images for personal use only. You will, however, receive in addition to your Hi-Resolution images a set of web quality tastefully watermarked images for social media sharing.


Do you take traditional family portraits?


Yes we do.


How long does it take to get our photos back?


Our aim is to provide your digital images online within 14 days, this will allow you to share and provide friends and family with a way to order their required prints etc.

Photo books and wall art will take up to 21 days once your chosen images are provided and the book is designed and order placed.


Do you edit all of the images?


Images that meet the quality standard of NLC PHOTOGRAPHY will be provided to our clients and will be fully edited in colour only. RAW image files will not be supplied under any circumstances. 


Do I get to choose the images for my album?


Yes, most certainly you do!


Can I share my photos online with my friends and family?


As mentioned NLC PHOTOGRAPHY will provide you with a duplicate watermarked set of images for this reason.


Could you shoot my engagement session?


All of our current packages include a complimentary engagement shoot and first wedding anniversary shoot subject to T & C


Do you have insurance?


NLC PHOTOGRAPHY is a professional business and as such is fully insured including public liability insurance of £5,000,000
